QUESTIONS & POLICIES
PATIENT RESOURCES
An EEG records your child's brain wave activity. It doesn't hurt, you'll be with them the whole time, and this page walks you through exactly how to prepare.
When will results be ready?
Waiting is the hardest part. Here's when each kind of result is typically available, so you know when to expect our call.
- 2-3 business days EEG, MRI/CT, and lab results
- 10-14 days Ambulatory EEG results
- 2-3 weeks Sleep study results
- 12-16 weeks Chromosome test results
Common questions
We ask for 72 hours' notice to cancel a new patient or procedure appointment, and 24 hours' notice for return patients. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment. We also want to be upfront about one policy: after two failed appointments, your physician may release you from their care. If something comes up, call us as early as you can and we'll work with you.
Patient co-pays and deductibles are collected before you see the physician, so it helps to have payment ready when you check in. We accept cash, check, and card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover).
Not always. Your insurance may not cover the full cost of your charges, and regardless of insurance, payment remains your personal responsibility and is due before you see the physician. Please note that we do not file secondary insurance.
No fee for forms and letters of reasonable length completed or certified by our physicians. Two things help us turn them around: fill out the parent portion before submitting, since blank forms can't be accepted, and plan for our turnaround times of three business days for forms and one week for letters.
Contact our office at least five days before the date the records must be received. Records cost $10.00 for the first 20 pages and $0.25 for each page after that, collected before the records are released. There's no charge for records sent to a licensed health care provider, insurance company, or state agency. Download the medical records release form (PDF).
Calls for a physician are returned within 1 to 2 business days, prioritized by urgency per the physician. For questions before a procedure, our nurses can often help sooner through the Contact Your Nurse page.
EEG, MRI/CT, and lab results are available after 2 to 3 business days. Ambulatory EEGs take 10 to 14 days. Sleep studies take 2 to 3 weeks, and chromosome test results take 12 to 16 weeks. The timeline at the top of this page has them all in one place.
