Seizures, headache & injury
Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders
A seizure is a sudden burst of electrical activity in the brain, and epilepsy means seizures that recur. Watching your child have a seizure is frightening, and getting clear answers matters. Our physicians evaluate seizures with a detailed history and EEG testing performed in our own office, then build a treatment plan around your child. We also partner with Children's Health Plano, including providing services at their epilepsy center, for children who need a higher level of care.

Headaches are common in children, but frequent or severe headaches deserve a closer look. Migraines in particular can disrupt school, sleep, and family life. We work to identify what kind of headache your child is having, rule out underlying causes, and build a plan that reduces how often headaches happen and how hard they hit.

After a blow to the head, whether from sports, a fall, or an accident, families need to know two things: is my child okay, and when can they safely return to normal activity. We evaluate concussions and traumatic brain injuries, monitor recovery, and guide the gradual return to school, screens, and sports so healing isn't rushed.

ADHD
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder affects focus, impulse control, and activity level, and it often shows up first as struggles at school or at home. We evaluate whether ADHD, or something that looks like it, explains what you're seeing, and we work with your family on a plan that may include behavioral strategies, school support, and medication when appropriate.

Autism affects how a child communicates, interacts, and experiences the world, and it looks different in every child. We offer Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) testing, a personalized assessment administered by our certified physician assistant that evaluates crucial aspects of development through interaction and conversation with your child. ADOS-2 results can also be used to obtain insurance approval for ABA therapy. A diagnosis is not a destination: our focus is on what your child can do and the support that helps them do more.

Many tics fade on their own, and many children with Tourette syndrome thrive. Our role is ongoing partnership: managing the neurological side of your child's care, coordinating with therapists and other specialists, and adjusting the plan as your child grows and their needs change.
